Overview

The starting pay rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications. 

 

The Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH) is a skilled nursing facility seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join our team in providing care to our veterans and members with the dignity and respect that they so rightfully deserve.

 

Our mission:  "The Vermont Veterans' Home provides best of class healthcare services to Veterans, their spouses and gold star parents while honoring their choices and respecting their right of self-determination."  

 

Our Registered Nurses (RN) develop and manage nursing care plans, as well as instruct patients and their families in proper treatment for the highest level of function/quality of life. We provide person-centered care and all residents/families are encouraged to be active participants. We provide clinical oversight along with a wide range of services for long-term and short-stay admissions.

 

We are recruiting for all shifts. Shift differentials, as applicable, will apply to hours worked on weekends, evenings and nights.

This position, Registered Nurse II - Temporary (Job Requisition #32321), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Environmental Factors

Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting. Work may require travel off-site. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and other stressful situations may occur. Minimum Qualifications

Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience.
OR
Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND one (1) year or more of experience as a Registered Nurse I with the State of Vermont.

 

NOTE: Must maintain Vermont licensure or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Special Requirements

Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
