Overview

Whenever Vermonters face challenges, we come together. Today, we need healthcare professionals to answer the call for vulnerable populations in need of critical care during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Together, we will overcome this challenge.
 
The Vermont Veterans’ Home (VVH) is responsible for the medical, physical and emotional care of some of Vermont’s most vulnerable; Veterans, spouses and gold star parents. VVH is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for all shifts to maintain the physical and emotional health of residents during this national pandemic.
 
The State is offering premium pay for these urgently needed positions.

  • Days: $43.41/hr
  • Evenings: $44.41/hr
  • Nights: $45.66/hr

 
Additionally, VVH will be offering housing accommodations in a nearby hotel at no cost for staff hired into these positions that reside 50+ miles from the facility.

Who May Apply

This position, Registered Nurse II - Temporary (#6945), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Environmental Factors

Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting. Work may require travel off-site. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and other stressful situations may occur. Minimum Qualifications

Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont AND two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience in the nursing specialty.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Special Requirements

Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
