Overview

Registered Nurses (RN) at the Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH) develop and manage nursing care plans, as well as instruct patients and their families in proper treatment for the highest level of function/quality of life. We provide person-centered care and all residents/families are encouraged to be active participants. We provide clinical oversight along with a wide range of services for long-term and short-stay admissions.


We currently have a part-time night position available, with flexibility to hire at either the RN I or RN II level depending upon qualifications. This position is eligible for benefits.  The hours are 10:00 pm – 6:30 am, 24 hours per week, including weekends & holidays.

This position, Registered Nurse II (Job Requisition #891), is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs. We are hiring for the night shift. Starting pay rates include market factor adjustments:

  • Nights - $34.94/hour

Environmental Factors

Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting. Work may require travel off-site. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and other stressful situations may occur. Minimum Qualifications

Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont AND two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience in the nursing specialty.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Special Requirements

Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.

Must maintain Vermont licensure as a Registered Nurse as a condition of employment.
