Overview

The starting pay rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

 

Registered Nurses (RN) at the Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH) develop and manage nursing care plans, as well as instruct patients and their families in proper treatment for the highest level of function/quality of life. We provide person-centered care and all residents/families are encouraged to be active participants. We provide clinical oversight along with a wide range of services for long-term and short-stay admissions.

 

We currently have part-time evening positions available. These positions are eligible for benefits. The hours are 2pm to 10:30pm, 24 hours per week, and include working weekends & holidays. Shift differentials, as applicable, will apply to hours worked on evenings and weekends.

This position, Registered Nurse I (Job Requisition #49536), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized through 12/09/2024. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors

Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting. Work may require travel off-site. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and other stressful situations may occur. May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends and extended shifts as the need arises.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license.

OR

In the final semester of an accredited school of nursing program. (Graduation from the program must occur prior to hire and continued employment will be contingent on the employee passing the Nursing Licensure Exam (NCLEX).
