Overview

The Vermont Veterans' Home is currently seeking to hire a full-time Housekeeping Utility Worker. This position may include Housekeeping and/or Laundry job duties. Housekeeping duties are mopping, sweeping, dusting, trash removal, cleaning of living spaces and common areas. Laundry duties are laundering linens and personal clothing, sorting and folding, delivery and pickup of laundry as well as operation of laundry machines.

 

The positions we are filling are scheduled for either 6:00am to 2:30pm or 11:00am to 7:30pm, and include working weekends and holidays. Flexibility is important as there are times when you may be required to work either of these shifts to accommodate the needs of the facility.

Environmental Factors

Employees in this class will be expected to work in any of the assigned sections; assignments may vary on a daily basis. This class is utility in nature and employees must be flexible in changing from one type of work and location to another on short notice. Considerable standing, walking, and lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Incumbents must be prepared to drive a vehicle in all types of weather.
