Overview

The Nutritional Services Division at the Vermont Veterans' home is currently seeking temporary Dietary Utility Workers. The duties will include food preparation, set up and break down of dining areas, delivery of food to the units, operation of food line, stocking supplies, washing dishes and pots/pans, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen area. There are two shifts available; the first is 6am to 2:30pm, and the second is 11am to 7:30pm. Both shifts will include working weekends and holidays.

Who May Apply

This position, Dietary Utility Worker - Temporary (#8482), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Environmental Factors

Employees in this class will be expected to work in any of the assigned sections; assignments may vary on a daily basis. This class is utility in nature and employees must be flexible in changing from one type of work and location to another on short notice. Considerable standing, walking, and lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Incumbents must be prepared to drive a vehicle in all types of weather.
