Overview

Whenever Vermonters face challenges, we come together. Today, we need food service workers to answer the call for vulnerable populations in need of critical care during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Together, we will overcome this challenge.
 
The Vermont Veterans’ Home (VVH) is responsible for the medical, physical and emotional care of some of Vermont’s most vulnerable: Veterans, spouses and gold star parents. VVH is seeking Dietary Utility Workers to assist food production for residents during this national pandemic.
 
The hourly rate is $14.33/hr.
 
Additionally, VVH will be offering housing accommodations in a nearby hotel at no cost for staff hired into these positions that reside 50+ miles from the facility.

Who May Apply

This position, Dietary Utility Worker - Temporary (#7041), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Environmental Factors

Employees in this class will be expected to work in any of the assigned sections; assignments may vary on a daily basis. This class is utility in nature and employees must be flexible in changing from one type of work and location to another on short notice. Considerable standing, walking, and lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Incumbents must be prepared to drive a vehicle in all types of weather.
