Overview

HireAbility Vermont (formerly VocRehab) is recruiting for a part-time Vocational Counselor position in our Barre office. Job duties include conducting career assessments, providing career guidance and counseling, case management and case documentation to support education, training, and employment services, and working with employment staff to secure employment and work experiences. 


Excellent computer skills are required. NOTE: We are recruiting at three levels (VR Associate, Counselor I and II). If you meet the minimum qualifications to apply for more than one level, you will need to submit an application for each level you would like to be considered for.

Who May Apply

This position, VR Associate - Temporary (Job Requisition #38781), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily within a standard office setting. Some travel may be required to consumer homes and work sites, for which private means of transportation must be available.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher AND two (2) or more years at or above a paraprofessional or technical level in a human services program, involving direct client contact.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a human services field. 

Special Requirements

Successful applicants will be required to make a written commitment to secure, within five years of hire, a master’s degree in a field approved by the Department.
