Title: Right of Way Agent II

Overview
The Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is seeking a Right of Way Agent for a position within the Acquisition Unit of the Right of Way Section. Daily duties will include working with property owners for the acquisition of rights needed for VTrans projects. Work may also include cross-training in our Legal Documents and Property Management section working with writing deeds and right-of-way research. The ability to learn how to determine land values, read plans, land records research, general contracting, paralegal and/or GIS skills are helpful. The ability to stay organized and work well with others are important, and knowledge of Microsoft products would be ideal.
The main offices are located in Barre City, and the position may be eligible for telework, though it is not a fully remote position.

Environmental Factors
Work is performed in both a standard office setting and in the field involving significant interaction with property owners and local officials. Assignments will require travel throughout the State for which private means of transportation is required. Some evening and overtime work is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of experience in real estate, property management, business, sales, or general contracting.
OR
One (1) year of experience as a Right of Way Agent I.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with negotiating, property acquisition, or property management.
Ability to read plans and understand legal documents.
Special Requirements
A valid driver’s license is required.
