Overview

Exciting public service opportunity to be an integral part of the VT Agency of Digital Services (ADS) team that helps ensure the VT Agency of Transportation (AOT) can execute on its mission of providing for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods.

We are seeking a technologist with an application development and administration focus to help us support our partner agency's mission. Success in this position means you are a self-starter, a collaborator, have a positive can-do attitude and the ability to use good judgment while performing a variety of complex tasks in a supportive environment.  You must be flexible and eager to quickly learn new technologies and how they support the missions of both ADS and AOT.

Primary responsibilities include:
•    Analyze, design, develop and/or configure new and/or existing code based on business processing requirements.
•    Debug and test configuration, VB.NET and SQL coding changes.
•    Works to implement process enhancements through automation or other means of process streamlining.
•    Monitor and resolve issues within the production applications/environments.
•    Be adept at communicating technical ideas and concepts to our end users in a way they can understand, as well as able to listen to business needs communicated by users and be able to translate them into a technical solution.

Preference will be given to candidates that possess:
•    Working knowledge of the full systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
•    Working knowledge of VB.NET or C# and Visual Studio.
•    Working knowledge of MS SQL Query Development
•    Experience with configuration / administration of Hyland OnBase (certification a big plus) , Salesforce development / administration, and Azure DevOps
•    ArcGIS administration experience
•    Webserver administration experience
•    Knowledge of software configuration management and release engineering

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting and there is significant interaction with users and members of project teams requiring some tact and diplomacy to balance competing views. Work outside of regular work schedule can be anticipated.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science;

OR

Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.

OR

Four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
