Title: AOT Manager II - Amtrak

Overview
The Agency of Transportation (AOT) is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to manage the Amtrak contracts for state supported train services. The position will be negotiating contracts with Amtrak and other state partners. The position will represent the State in several national organizations regarding train services, and will also act as the coordinator for Operation Life Saver regarding train safety in Vermont. Additionally, the position will present safety programs to the public throughout Vermont in an effort to educate groups about train safety. This ideal candidate will be able manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed in office and field settings. Incumbents should possess private means of transportation. Attendance at public meetings and hearings is required. Evening or weekend work may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree AND five (5) years or more of management experience in one or more the following areas (a) development of program rules and policies; (b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans: (c) program evaluation; or (d) budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning or a combination thereof.
OR
High school diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) years or more of management experience in one or more the following areas (a) development of program rules and policies; (b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans: (c) program evaluation; or (d) budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning or a combination thereof.
Special Requirements
Some positions may require registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
