Title: AOT Data Analyst III - Business Intelligence

Overview
The Vermont Agency of Transportation seeks a Data Analyst to join a newly re-aligned team under the Administration Division that will work on special projects identified by executive staff. This position will play a critical role in supporting AI implementation, data governance, and other digital transformation initiatives.
This position will be responsible for:
- Serving as a technical project lead for high-priority business process optimization initiatives;
- Communicating with AOT internal users frequently to gather detailed business requirements;
- Identifying and evaluating technically feasible solutions that meet business requirements in conjunction with the continuous improvement team;
- Developing innovative technical solutions that provide actionable insights and/or process improvements from AOT data;
- Enabling the lead business unit to implement process efficiencies through training and knowledge transfer sessions on emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate brings a unique blend of technical experience and soft skills. Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities. Preference will be given to candidates that demonstrate past experience performing data analysis and visualizations using Microsoft Power Platform and/or SQL Server; developing business requirements based on customer feedback; and/or applying continuous improvement or change management frameworks.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, statistics, data science, geographic information systems, computer science, or closely related field AND two (2) or more years of work experience including one (1) or more of the following areas: statistical analysis, data science, data analysis, geospatial analysis, quality management, project/program management, program, or policy development.
OR
Associate degree or higher in engineering, statistics, data science, geographic information systems, computer science, or closely related field AND four (4) or more years of work experience including one (1) or more of the following areas: statistical analysis, policy analysis, data science, data analysis, geospatial analysis, quality management, project/program management, program, or policy development.
OR
High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) or more years of work experience including one (1) or more of the following areas: statistical analysis, policy analysis, data science, data analysis, geospatial analysis, quality management, project/program management, program, or policy development.
