Overview

The Agency of Transportation's Contract Administration Bureau is seeking a motivated, detail-orientated professional to join our Grants Unit as a Contracts Specialist.

 

This role will support more than 900 grants across 21 statewide programs each year, ensuring the efficient use of resources that keep Vermont's transportation system moving. The Specialist will prepare and assemble documents for Notice of Funding Opportunities through grant execution and assisting with grant financial monitoring responsibilities. The position is expected to maintain accurate data across multiple software systems and help ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

 

We are looking for an individual who brings strong organizational skills, the ability to move seamlessly between priorities, able to work independently and with a group setting. Excellent communication skills are a must. The work is challenging and rewarding, with a direct connection to improving the transportation services that Vermonters rely on every day. You'll be part of a collaborative environment where your contributions make an immediate and lasting impact on both the Agency's mission and the traveling public.

 

This position requires a minimum of three days per week working in person in Barre, VT.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in an office setting. Incumbent will interact with internal and external customers requiring professional conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in public administration, accounting, business management, or related field AND one (1) year or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants, agreements, maintenance or construction processes, public administration, law, or a related field.

OR

High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants and agreements, maintenance or construction processes, public administration, law, or a related field.

OR

Two (2) years or more of experience as an AOT Contracts Specialist Il or AOT Contract Administrator II with the State of Vermont.
