Overview

The Developmental Disabilities Services Division is looking for a motivated person to fill the DDSD Nurse Quality Management Specialist position.
This position requires Specialized nursing work at a professional level involving highly advanced and comprehensive nursing administrative, consultative, technical and planning work. The DDSD Nurse Quality Management Specialist is responsible to provide responsive, high-quality collaboration with the Developmental Disabilities Services network of providers to ensure well-coordinated services for the consumers and individuals served. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations relating to intellectual and developmental disability, and good communication skills is essential.

Environmental Factors
Duties may be performed in both field and office settings. Considerable travel may be required to community provider agencies for which overnight stays also may be required. Evening work may be required. Resistance or objection to standards or to survey findings may be anticipated and requires considerable tact and diplomacy to achieve appropriate resolution. Survey deadlines, exit conferences, and interviewing may on occasion cause stress.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND five (5) years or more of professional nursing experience INCLUDING two (2) years or more of in the specialty area.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

NOTE: Must maintain Vermont licensure as a Registered Nurse OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license as a condition of employment.
Special Requirements
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with applicable hiring standards, fingerprint supported criminal record checks, adult and child abuse registry checks, the Office of Inspector General exclusion database, and motor vehicle driving record checks, as appropriate to the positon under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion, or demotion into a classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
