Overview
The Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living has an opportunity for a new Division Director to lead Vermont’s Developmental Disabilities Services Division (DDSD). This position requires someone with strong leadership skills as well as the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, and applicants should be driven by a passion to make Vermont the best state in which to age or to live with a disability – with dignity, respect, and independence. Vermont has long been a national leader in home and community-based services (HCBS) for people with developmental disabilities. The DDSD Director will drive our continued innovation for Vermont’s HCBS system. A $230 million budget makes this one of Vermont's largest human service programs. It is an ideal opportunity to lead Vermont’s developmental services state team, to help our designated and specialized services agencies sustain a high level of service, and keep Vermont’s values strong. We seek a person with proven leadership in human services and/or health care program management.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Meetings with community organizations will require significant travel, for which private means of transportation must be available. Some pressure from deadlines may be anticipated. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or other advanced degree in human services or a related field AND two (2) years or more of professional level experience in developmental disabilities services AND two (2) years or more in program administration or supervision of staff.
OR
Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field AND four (4) years or more of professional level experience in developmental disabilities services AND two (2) years or more in program administration or supervision of staff.
