Overview

The Motor Vehicle Data Clerk is reponsible for specialized clerical work that includes researching data and coding documents so that they may be entered into the system of record. Additionally, the incumbent will assist others in and outside of the unit, both in person and via phone or e-mail, with various research requests and document retrieval. Intermittent lifting of boxes of documents or supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. is to be expected. This position will require the employee to complete multiple trainings regarding confidentiality and information security, as they will work with secure information on a daily basis. The work is performed in an open air cubicle setting, with moderate amounts of typical office noises including, but not limited to, printers, scanners, copiers, loading/unloading of deliveries, phones and fax machine. At times, this position will lend support to other units and may require use of additional office equipment, and training to complete other work processes as needed.

This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs. This position is funded through 09/31/2021.

In accordance with Title 23, Section 102(d), an applicant must agree to be finger-printed and pass a background investigation to be eligible for this position. The background investigation may include criminal, financial and traffic records checks. Environmental Factors

Work is usually performed in an office setting using office supplies and equipment. Incumbents must be able to concentrate on details and perform accurate work. Some positions require human relations skills in order to deal with the public.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent AND (1) one year of office clerical experience.

OR

Completion of a one-year vocational/technical training program in business and office occupations or related area.

OR

One (1) year of college coursework.
