Application Deadline Date:  09/27/2021
Req ID:  20701
Department:  Education Agency
Location:

Montpelier, VT, US

Position Type:  Permanent
Schedule Type:  Full Time
Hourly Rate:  $27.20

Overview

The AOE is now hiring for its Pre-service Education Coordinator. This position is responsible for facilitating the development and revision of all Vermont educator standards, collaborating with the pre-service licensing team, and coordinating cross-team and cross-divisional projects.

All Vermont educator endorsements are revised on a five-year cycle to ensure that they reflect latest trends and research on pedagogical content knowledge. This position will develop the revision schedule and facilitate the standards revision. This will require substantial exploration of trends and outreach to practitioners and education preparation programs.

Additionally, this position will coordinate large scale projects within the Education Quality division and, on occasion, across the Agency of Education. This will require attention to detail, adept interpersonal skills, the ability to gain a basic understanding of a broad range of education and education policy topics, and a continuous improvement mentality.

Finally, this position will collaborate on a team of three that supports and oversees education preparation in Vermont.

As pre-service licensure shapes the future of Vermont educators, a disposition that ensures that the education force reflects an anti-bias perspective is essential to this position. Therefore, the AOE is requesting that the applicant submit a statement on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion along with their materials. This statement should outline the applicant's professional skills in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion and should describe their experiences and accomplishments addressing and correcting educational inequity.

Applicants who do not provide this statement will not be disqualified from consideration for this position, but will not have the benefit of being able to articulate their experience in this area to the review team. Applicants submitting this statement can include it as an addendum to their cover letter or as a separate document upload.
